Seriously - it's the years of training! My Wilderness First Aid certification is long expired, but the memories of using a plastic trash bag for a raincoat, twig chopsticks, and bending a sapling down to suspend items over the fire live on. (raincoat, most utensils, and grate all lost shooting rapids (and dumping) on day 11 of a 34 day trip).

Gawd knows I'd much rather be using condoms for their intended purpose, but there is a reason they put them in emergency kits!

It's good for something, evidently. Still can't get a visual: open on the corner with your front teeth, spit paper wrapper out of your mouth.....then, do you wash it in salt water (you are on desertED is, remember) before packing whatever you need save?

I believe there might be many uses, but just can't get there!!!! Makes me smile though!
