30A Closed at Deer Lake For Bridge Replacement On Oct 30, 2023

Beginning October 30, 2023, both lanes of Scenic 30A will be closed at Deer Lake east of Seagrove due to the construction of a new bridge.

The project encompasses relocating utilities, removing the current box culvert, installing a new precast concrete bridge, realigning the road and multiuse path, and setting up drainage facilities. Anticipated to last 180 days, the contract is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2024.

Watersound Parkway is going to be challenging. Hopefully the interesetion of 30A will be completed and flow better and the 98 intersection needs fixing it is dangerous.

I've been fine with a "bypass" that follows the forest edge around Seagrove. It's kind of there now it's called a fire break.

Public Notice: 30A Road Closure Clarification​

CR 30A will be closed later this year for a full bridge construction at Deer Lake near Deer Lake State Park. Walton County is currently in the process of selecting a general contractor for the bridge construction. The road closure dates will not be scheduled until a contract is approved by the Walton County Board of County Commissioners. We anticipate the closure to begin late October or early November 2023. Message boards and detour signage will be erected giving the public two weeks notice prior to the closure. If you have any questions please visit Walton County Road Closures.

- Pave the forest.

Sucks for businesses close to the bridge on either side otherwise RPP.

Accentuates the need for a fire station in Seacrest. And fixing traffic lanes and signals at Watersound Parkway at 30A and 98 intersections.
