I looked at the name and read " 30A Venue ". I guess it could go either way. Only concern is the same as accompanies all projects impacting 30A - traffic. Combined with the new project planned for the same intersection, but on the South side (125 room hotel, commercial, residences), Donut Hole, Dollar General, +++++ eventually. Does anyone have an answer to the infrastructure problem which has been a topic of conversation here for years or do we just continue to build with no forethought and complain later?

Other than a traffic light (ingress and egress will be limited) a 4 lane highway is pretty good infrastructure.

There's a reason South Walton is called "Atlanta Beach." Hopefully 30Avenue will not be like the other "Avenues" in Georgia that are primarily national chain stores. I can buy that merchandise in metro Atlanta and spend my time at the beach when I'm in South Walton. Let's give the developers the benefit of the doubt and assume that the retailers are not like at the Georgia Avenues. Then driving from Seagrove or Watersound I'd cut over to 98 at Watersound Parkway to get there. If you're in Alys or in that part of Seacrest where you'd have to backtrack to Watersound Parkway to get on 98 and avoid Rosemary traffic, you have somewhat of a dilemma. I think people in other neighborhoods in South Walton will cut through to 98 instead of taking 30A (unless they just want to take their time on Scenic 30A).

I've probably missed something.

You really believe that a significant amount of traffic is not going to wind up on 30a? Getting through Rosemary at the lights is going to be like Seaside, or worse.

Okay, you've identified a problem, now how about a solution?

If someone is too stupid to use the Camp Creek cutoff then they deserve to sit in traffic.

Yeah, we are Atlanta residents and know the Avenues very well. We own down in Santa Rosa and appreciate the relative calm we enjoy on our end of the strip. Cannot say that we are going to go out of our way to shop there.

Note the corner of 30A and 98 on south side now cleared - this is not part of 30Avenue, but rather a separate Hotel project.
