From what I have read in the local aper, the 8MPH limit is a starting point for discussion purposes....not necessarily the proposal.

It is the proposal, seagrovegirl, but you are also correct that it is a starting point. That is what public hearings are for. Tuesday will be the second and final meeting at the BCC meeting, so let them know if you are concerned. Emails to the Commissioners will also be a good thing to have your voice heard (read). I was unable to attend the first meeting and arrived just as it was wrapping up, but I understand that no one gave any input on the proposed ordinance.

My guess is that Mr Burke researched multi-use paths online, to come up with that speed.


Tuesday, Sept 9, 4:00pm at the South Walton Courthouse annex -- Final opportunity to be heard prior to the final decision on the ordinance being approved.
