Inlet Beach has one of the largest regional beach accesses in South Walton.
The tunnel is close to Winston Lane and Wall Street accesses. I'd be surprised if people use the tunnel to got to Inlet Beach Access unless they're in a golf cart or on a bike. And golf carts illegal in the tunnel?

The tunnel is close to Winston Lane and the other small one just to the east I can't recall the name. I'd be surprised if people use the tunnel to got to Inlet Beach Access unless they're in a golf cart or on a bike. And golf carts illegal in the tunnel?
Yes, from my understanding golf carts are not allowed in the future tunnel. But have you heard than phrase "pending further notice"? Heck, it might be a good thing to let the golf carts use the tunnel to keep them off of highway 98. But who in their right mind would drive a golf cart on the highway? Hahahaha

Yes, why drive on the highway when there are sidewalks available free of traffic

It was originally intended for and designed for the mass of people coming from the south side of 98 to 30Avenue and Donut Hole. It was also designed to be for pedestrians and WALKED bicycles. It has no design or capacity for golf carts and should remain that way.

Walton County Tourism:
As you’ve probably seen on social media, we — and our residents — have been talking about the beach more than usual lately and we’ve received a lot of feedback and questions about calculations and measurements. We are aware of the concerns about these numbers. The county is currently undergoing a survey along the beach so we have an exact answer to these questions as opposed to approximations based on GIS data sets.

We look forward to the survey’s conclusion and understand the importance of surveying our beaches.

Started my beach career as a young boy going form Louisiana to Galveston Texas where my father attended an annual summer convention. In the early 70's he announced no more Galveston. I and my 3 older brothers were bummed. He said instead the convention was moving to this sleepy little fishing village called Destin FL. And I have been coming back as often as I can since then, continuing to slide east as development occurred. I've been going to 30A now for years and have watched the growth. Its always a tug of war between how much growth is too much. Business is going to move in where there is money to be made. Government promotes that because it produces tax dollars in multiple ways. That's how the system works. Looks like me and my family (I now have grandchildren) will be moving on to the next beach we can find. Nothing lasts forever.
