Who knows, maybe it did...my grandmother insisted on using melted shortening (Crisco) for frying chicken, but we use peanut oil for deep-frying as it has a higher smoke point (which is VERY important, when the people doing the frying are dumb enough to use a plastic thermometer :whack: ).

We may try a blend again, sans the fish grease - :razz:
