What a wonderful post and remberence of your Dad, Minnie! You are truly a very kind person. We lost my Dad almost two years ago July 7th, he passed of esophical (spelled incorrectly) cancer. It was a six month passing and he waited until I could get back to his bedside to pass over. He got to say all of the things he wanted to say in that time and we did too, there are some good thing to be said of cancer in that respect. Dad was a good man who still loves us.

I can't even imagine losing my Dad or my step-Dad although I know it's getting closer and closer every day that goes by. I don't know how I'll get through it, except to just go on with life and make sure my girls know everything I learned from what they taught me. I miss my family every day just being so far apart geographically.
My husband lost his Dad when he was 15. His heart still aches for his Dad...daily.

My thoughts are with you today Minnie. Take Care.

Nothing you can ever do to prepare. Just contact them as much as possible and never put it off, saying "Oh I will call them tomorrow, or next week. "

And definitely let him know how much you love, and honor him. I think my Dad always wondered, he asked my Mom about a month before he passed away, did she think we (my brothers and I) were proud of him.

Never ever would I have thought he had any doubts. :sosad:

One of my Dad's favorite types of music was anything Scottish, which is why I chose to play "Going Home" as my selection during his service.

One of the most moving moments in the movie Sex and the City is the version they play of Auld Lang Syne. If you have not heard it or seen the move here it is. Very, very moving.

:love:Thinking of you today (((((((Minnie))))))....love you. Take it easy, or have some fun, stay in bed and sleep or read, go shopping, light a candle, have lunch with a friend or whatever makes you feel close to your Dad. Only you know what it is.

Remember he is closer to you today then he ever has been....just reach out to him and tell him how much you miss him and love him and feel the warmth of peace flow over you.

Or, if it makes you feel better, open a window lean out and scream, "I'M MAD AS H*ELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!" I've done this a number of times!!!
