This conversation tonight on Charlie Rose...with the conservative writer and editor, and blogger, Andrew Sullivan, has to be one of the best I have ever heard about the state of affairs in our country today...I wonder what all of you think of his ideas.

Charlie Rose - Andrew Sullivan (may not be available on line for a few hours; it just aired.
Here is his blog: http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/

Thanks! One of the few Conservatives today that I admire very much..don't agree with everything he says, but he is incredibly thoughtful and reasonable. Believe it or not, he has change my position on a couple of issues!

Well, he identifies himself as a conservative and has certainly kept company (The New Republic, etc.) with more conservatives than not; regardless, it was a well thought out conversation IMO and the kind I wish we heard more from both, or all, sides of the spectrum.

I especially like what he said about the Tea Party members vis a vis fear of change and "not getting" the global community aspect of life today. He was tough and rightfully so on the Catholic church as it had to do with the abuse of children; and I appreciated the fact that he was able more than once to say he had changed his mind after he had more information or once he thought through an issue. Heck, he was even able on live TV to say he withdrew his comment once Charlie pointed out the error of his thinking.

While I don't agree with him on everything either, I certainly enjjoy that kind of dialogue with a smart person who is confident enough with himself to admit a mistake. It was refreshing.
