This is a little test a psych professor once designed.
The vertical lines represent a river. The letters represent persons as told in the following story:
X is a woman who is madly in love with C. C is also madly in love with X. X wants to cross the river and unite with C so that they can be married. The problem is that the river is too wide and the currents too swift for X to swim across.
She learns that A has a boat that can cross the river. She walks up the river bank and tells A her story, that she desparately wants to cross the river to marry C and will A take her across?
A agrees to take X across the river but if and only if she has sex with him. She refuses of course knowing that it would be betraying the man she loves so much. She wonders back down the river bank and tries to think how to get across. She happens upon B and tells B the story. B thinks for a long while and tells X that he is sorry but there is nothing he can do to help her.
X is distraught. The man of her dreams is across the river and the gulf is so wide he may as well be on another planet. She walks back up the river bank wondering if she should try to swim across. She puts herself through agony trying to decide what to do. Finally, she decides to submiti to A's demands. She can think of no other way to cross the river. X and A have sex and afterwards A lives up to his end of the bargain and takes X across the river.
X runs into the waiting arms of C. They are both overjoyed. C asks X how she got across. X tells C the truth and C breaks off the relationship and tells X that he wants nothing to do with her. Heartbroken with guilt and the loss of love, X meanders down the river bank.
She meets D who turns out to be a good listener. X tells D the whole story. Over time, they fall in love, marry and live happily ever after.
Now, your job is to put the five characters in the order that you liked them in the story. Put the character you like the best on top and follow with the other characters. Free free to post or keep to yourself. BTW, there are no right or wrong answers.
I will give time to those who want to join in and post a second little test later today.
