I have a border collie mix...and he is clueless. About the rat/mouse anyway....but a squirrel:yikes:! No peace until you open the back door. Have a Tibetan Terrier too........she likes rocks.

I love these dogs! :rotfl:

Spoke to soon about the mouse....let me go ahead and say it....I am pretty sure it is a rat. The things it chewed into...OMG. I looked in the pantry this morning and the trap was still there, untouched and I didn't see any debris from the packages.

I was out of the house for a few hours this morning...came home....opened the pantry door and saw shredded tostito bag on the floor. Upon firther inspection, it got another bag of tostitos, a bag of pretzels, every cracker in the house, dried seasoning in packets, like pesto, taco, etc.. and a hard plastic tube of cake frosting. That plastic is hard and he ate thru it and had a ball. So if you see a blue rat...IT'S MINE!!!

It must be a rat (or a really strong mouse with steroid rage) It sounds hungry too, well not anymore. Frosting??? Dang he's getting all the good stuff. That's it. He dies tonight.

You may have more than one and I think they are planning a kegger from the sound of their favorite party foods. Either that or that poor mouse has PMS.:D

The mice will play when the homeowner is away..........and my dogs would show the burgler the silver!

If one ever had a familiar I did in Mr. Blue Kitty. Big blue Persian who lived to be around 17. I still miss him so much, but to get back to the story, He thought he was a dog and or a person and would paw candy out of the candy dish and swat it onto the floor for my two Border Collies. I would come home and find wrappers all over the floor but no candy. I never have figured out how they got the wrappers open:dunno: without leaving teeth marks:blink:

But chips and frosting. I've so been there. Your mouse is either pregnant or pmsing:D

I admire your calmness in this whole situation. We had a small mouse once and I was so freaked out by it that Mr OL had to get up in the middle of the night and go buy traps. I couldn't rest until I knew it was gone. Thankfully it only took that night.
