Ding, Ding, Ding Jenny!!!

Monday, July 18: Rain. Publix. Beer. Sweet Tea Vodka. Beach when it finally cleared off late in the day. Water soupy with June grass. Kids didn't care. Waded in past it and had a ball. Leftovers for dinner. There was a ton of spaghetti. Sunkist and Jake out to dinner in Sowal--Nick's. They loved it.

Tuesday, July 19: Up early. Pontoon boat day! Sun!! Bought 8 lbs of jumbo shrimp, ran home to cook it and get it in the fridge. Herded cats for about an hour. Picked up the boat at 1 and off to crab island. Busted my ass on the boat. No serious injury. Had lots of funn--the kids LOVED CI. Back home. Had the shrimp for dinner--not one little shrimpy left. A good day.

The beginning of this trip report sounds like our Spring Break trip years ago when the US invaded Iraq. Cold & rainy almost every day. We spent most of the week watching & re-watching footage of Saddam's statue falling & drinking. I hope your trip report continues to improve!

I agree. The early parts of this report almost made me want to watch the debt ceiling debate for chuckles. It does seem to improving... can't wait for the juicy parts...

Wed, July 20: Kitty's birthday!!! Sunkist, Jake and Jackson leaving today. Early to the beach before their departure. Best beach day. Still some june grass, but spotty and decent waves. Kids had a blast. Back to the house to see S, J & J off, then back to the beach for a few more hours. Saw lots of dolphins on this day...always a good thing. Burgers on the grill and Disney channel. Vodka.

Thursday, July 21: To the beach early alone. Blessed peace. Water the worst. Soupy, mucky, nasty. I text Sunkist to make her feel better. I only stayed for about an hour and a half. Back to the house and then to Publix for dinner supplies since I was going to be MIA. A short nap, headed to Sowal for the evening. Ran by and saw Doodle and Sadie at Beachfolly and then on to Grayton. Best night of the trip!!!

Friday, July 22: Last day. :-(
Checked out the beach early. Collectively decided to spend the day on the Sound. Mr. DD gave jet ski rides/tube rides to the kids all day. Lots of beer consumed by certain members of the group. Sprinkles on and off, but a funn day on the Intercoastal. Um, except for when Mr. DD ran aground on the jet ski with DD on the back. Holy crap. I didn't go flying, but I let a few expletives fly. Disney channel that night and packing commenced. The one day that I did not go to Publix.

Saturday, July 23: Up at 4. Packed and ready to go at 6:30. Woke the rest of my caravan and hit the road.Left Mr. DD and his daughter to load up the jet ski and whatever other crap we left behind. They left at noon with a plan to spend the night in Lafayette. We drove all the way through. Won't go into all the trials of the road again, but it was one long mofo of a trip home is all I can say.
