acupunture for children?

My son was a teen when he went, so not exactly a child. And I've had accupuncture several times and am a big proponent of it. It certainly wouldn't be dangerous. The worst, I'd think, is a child's fear of needles. What issue are you addressing?

From what I understand, it really does seem to help some people with chronic pain syndromes. Maybe physiologic, maybe placebo, but if it works, who cares? With that said, I can't imagine a child being anything other than scared to have a stranger coming at them with a fistfull of needles.
That's my point, would you put your child through something that traumatic for a 50/50 result? It's not used to cure cancer.
From what I have heard, acupuncture is rarely used on children (due to the fear of needles and questionable nature of some treatments) and usually only for extreme conditions - like helping with chemo.
What does their pediatrician say/recommend?
Laser acupuncture is completely new to me - but sounds rather snake oily.

This is bringing out my inner Penn & Teller.
From what I understand laser acupuncture does not help the abdomen because the laser beams used cannot penetrate beyond 0.19 inches. It's used more for hands and feet, so someone would be selling you snake oil if they told you otherwise.
If you wanted to go a more homeopathic route, I would consult someone who specializes in homeopathic medicine and can help with things like digestive enzymes, probiotics, etc. They have a slew of different supplements to help with absorption issues. I know, I had issues with absorption due to infections from a tick and stopped absorbing vitamin B-12 and D, amongst other things. All the above, plus some, helped me tremendously. They probably can give very sage advice at For the Health of it.
