It sounds like everyone is okay - the media isn't reporting any fatalities (and if there was even a hint of one they'd use it as a headline) - just how cold the water is.

I've been watching this. Horrific pictures. I was struck by the one of people standing on the sinking planes wings.
It was surreal seeing the people on the wings. Brian Williams was saying, "No, they're not walking on water. They're on a wing." I think it was the wing of an angel.
Coincidentally on CNN the other day they were talking about how there have been no fatalities in a U.S. airliner in over two years. Thankfully that's still true, according to what they are saying now.
You don't hear any of the passengers complaining about the cold (yet). Obviously they're just glad to be alive. The TV reporters are complaining about it though. EDIT: Actually they are complaining a little, but who wouldn't?

The passenger comments I heard were quite complimentary about the way the pilot landed the plane.
That sucks, big-time! I hope everyone had their electronics backed up. I need to invent a bird deflector for jet engines.
Again, I'm reminded that pilots don't make the big bucks to fly on autopilot most of the time. They get paid the big bucks to handle situations like this, when/if they do ever occur.

Now that it's clear that all are OK in the crash I can report the following...
As President Bush's last official act of the Office of the President of the United States, President Bush intends to mobilize all military personnel in the states in an effort to launch a full scale invasion of Canada.
Bush plans on adding Canada to the "Axis of Evil" and has plans for a concerted military action to eradicate those dang Canadian Geese that poop all over creation and, now, apparently crash airplanes...
