Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
Just wanted to post that we bought amavida coffee beans when we were in SoWal over New Years and that coffee is fantastic. I usually can't tell one coffee from the other - e.g., starbucks versus other regular coffees, but we really thought the Amavida coffee tasted much better than other coffees. Also, my kids tried the Amavida when I got home and I didn't even tell them it was a different coffee and they asked me what kind of coffee it was because it was so good. It's not too expensive to buy it and bring it home from oen of the Amavida coffee shops, and it's an eco-friendly variety. So, consider me a fan. We'll buy extra to bring back to Michigan next time we're in SoWal.

Thank you Paula! Amavida coffee is roasted 4 days a week- fresh is best! We have a lot of mail order customers who had the coffee on while here on vacation, either at the 2 Amavida cafes, at one of the local restaurants who serve Amavida coffee, or when they stay in a Sunburst or CRA property (in-room coffee programs).

We get quite a few calls and emails asking about "that wonderful coffee I had in SoWal- how can I get some at home?" It is easy- www.amavida.com or call me at the roaster 850-249-8657 and we will get you set up!

I am the operations manager- so a bit biased. I can tell you I am in coffee heaven 5 days a week!;-) In fact, it is time for a little afternoon pick-me-up...

Had me some on Saturday at Fonville Press. I was a first timer. Good stuff!

Hey, Jdarg, I didn't know you were involved with the Amavida Coffee business - nice job! It really is smooth - I'm not even a big coffee drinker, but I noticed right away that the Amavida Coffee is something special. My Sweetie is a big coffee drinker, and he was smitten with Amavida Coffee (now that I know I can get it through the mail, it will be one of his Valentine's Day presents, too). I like it that Amavida Coffee is also part of the sustainability movement. Is it also a SoWal original business? Drink good while doing good...

Yes- started and owned by a great local family- Dan and Sally Bailey. Original location was where Seagrove Coyote is now. I started with them a year ago this month, and work in the office at the roaster, but a few mornings a week I slide through one of the cafes on my way to work. Amavida is part of a coop of roasters (Cooperative Coffees, google them) who are committed to Fair Trade and organic coffee and uplifting the communities where the coffee is grown. It is a great group of people. The 2012 coop annual meeting will be in SoWal, so there will be people here from all over the world in September.

If there's one thing Jdarg needs, it's another cup of Joe. :D

Ha ha. It is interesting- I don't drink that much coffee at work. We have all these fancy machines out here and I am intimidated! I have learned how to make a serviceable pour- over for when I need an afternoon pick-me-up.

I heard that chick at Fonville is kinda cool...
I love telling people we serve Amavida coffee at Fonville!! Having had the experience of the roasting process, I can truly appreciate what Dan and yourself are accomplishing right here in SoWal! During the season, Caliza serves Amavida as well!!
