I was thinking the same thing but I figured BR was making a global pronouncement for the owners out there who thought hiring bad help was a good idea.

I have had Amavida employees go above and beyond for me.

they always do!!!!!!! love 'em all. amavida coffee shop knows their coffee and provides the yummiest goodies made fresh right on the premises, and the young men and women are always so nice and friendly, and SO helpful when I'm shopping for a new coffee or tea or gadget. they do know their stuff.

I work at Amavida and everyone that works there is over the age of twenty. As far as the "acting like teenagers"...I quote the great Bryan Adams, "Those were the best days of our lives" .... teenagers wouldn't know that song.

Beach Runner,

I am the owner of Amavida and I am sorry if your experience was less than pleasant. With that in mind, please understand that all of our employees have the authority to make every customer happy with an unconditional guarentee. Sometimes we are not perfect, althought we strive for excellence and we are commited to the craft of roasting and preparing coffee. We even struggle at times when we are training new members.

We have a very interesting and diverse staff ranging from: Actors, musician song-writers, graduate students, college students, photographers, creative artists, and culinary ethusiasts with creative backgrounds. With such a diverse group, we provide and environment for our staff to be themselves. Needless to say we are very proud of our staff for their contributions to Amavida and their commitment to our community that many do on their own time.

On occasion, we do hire a teenager from the jobs program in SW High school. In some cases they are students that some need direction in life and we make a commitment to rasie them to the next bar. We have a had a pretty good track record doing so!

In closing, please accept my apoligies for any inconvenience you may experienced at Amavida and please feel free to communicate any concerns to our staff if you are ever less than satisfied. Likewise you may contact me anytime on SOWAL.

Thanks

Dan

Thanks, Dan. I want Amavida to be great. We need a successful coffee house in our neighborhood so that we or our rental guests can walk over and get a cup of coffee and a light breakfast. Renters typically ask me if there are any good places to eat within walking distance. I'll definitely pm you if I ever have a disappointing experience. You being successful helps me be successful as someone who depends on rental income.

actually, having amavida in SoWal gives us a really great coffee shop to frequent. one that not only specializes in excellent coffees and teas, but one that you really feel comfortable hanging out in for a bit with a book, newspaper, or a friend. that's the draw for me. the food is good too.

Actually, we had a great experience in the Seagrove shop. My wife and I couldn't belive how "into" the tea and coffee products the guy who waited on us was. He was showing us all of these nifty tea presses and related products and could not have been nicer. This wasn't the only time we had great service.
