I've really liked this season. The travel directions are less spoon-fed than they have been the past couple of years, the tasks have been interesting and production hasn't put in any gross eating challenges, and they had a nice diversity of teams- no alpha males teams and they kept the mactors (model/actors) to a minimum.

Is that a new SoWall term? Put in on the thread!!!

Mactors is courtesy of the fine folks of Television Without Pity. They're also responsible for "God is in the tub" which came from a discussion of how God does not play favorites among reality show contestants, no matter how hard a given team is praying that the other teams don't make the first flight out of Tanzania.

UGH, Nate and Jen. They were so terrible to one another but it was hard not to laugh. Eliminated on her birthday!

I love TK and Rachel, love the way they work together, encourage one another and work through their frustrations. I am rooting for them but at this point I'd be okay with any of them winning.
We were so tired of hearing Jen say throughout the weeks how unfair it was that they never got a chance to come in first.

I would like TK and Rachel to win. (TK is pretty cute.)

How has no one posted yet about the winners?!

I am really happy for them.

Me too Lucky!!! What a good ending. No foot race at all to the end....
I would have been happy with anyone winning.

Our youth group is going to have an Amazing Race event in May. Many roadblock/detours etc..will be little service projects...how funn will that be?!!!!!

I loved this season....and have SO much admiration for the two older gents that made it to the final three. YOU cannot KNOW HOW difficult that is. It shows just how amazing those two teams were to be able to hang in there for as long as they did. Congrats!

The final task was a difficult one. In later seasons the last task has come down to brains/memory...many of the tasks after our season have gotten progressively more difficult. I think it is because WRP hired a new guy who designs the tasks. The editors are magic....they have the uncanny ability to make things look like they took only a minute....and are able to drag out other times to make it look like two teams are neck and neck with each other. Why "we" win the Emmy every year!

Don't know if anyone watched The Early Show this morning and saw Phil present the BIG check....I was surprised that the top three teams were not in the studio, I would have liked to have seen them interviewed. I did see several of the teams outside....

All in all I was happy with the outcome, would have been happy for any of that final three to win....I always cry at the end. To see those teams cross that finish line....it's such an emotional experience to know how far they have gone and all they have been thru....it's very surreal....and they deserve every cent they win!

Looking forward to next season!

I read that TK & Rachel had kept a journal of the race as they went, and knowing that final memory challenges had been a part of the last couple of races, were pouring over the journal to study on the plane to Alaska. Smart move.

And Don is simply awesome. Since neither Nate & Jen, nor Lorena & Jason won, I can now say that the casting for this race was excellent. I loved seeing Gramps, the Goths, and A&H on the screen for many a week. TK & Rachel seemed like genuinely nice people, and were also the source of many a pot joke at Casa Mouse, and even Nate & Jen had their entertaining moments. ("Do I give the flowers to the elephant?")

Kudos to them for making it more fair. It was getting a little tiresome watching all the young athletes win due to their strength and stamina.

That was hilarious!

I, too, would have been fine with any of them winning. The girl who raced with her dad deserves a special award all to herself for putting up with her dad, but he truly seems to have had experienced some change on their journey.

Yes, I think I want to meet TK and Rachel, or at least know how things turn out for them
