This is like a miniature version of the 2008 Presidential election.

You look at it in dismay and ask "Are these the best two candidates that could be found for the job?????"

I don't know if these are the best two candidates but I sure like Sharron Angle a lot better than Harry Reid.

One part of Angle's platform the libs are enjoying ragging her about is she is opposed to "massages for convicts". Do we want our taxes to pay for massages for convicts? It's so laughable. Why don't we get them pedicures and botox treatments? I think she would be better than Reid but that's up to Nevada.

Uh, you have it kinda backwards. The libs were ragging her about it because she somewhat supported a prison reform program that was aimed at drug users, one that was based in Scientology. Read the article, and you will see that Reid used her supposed support in an ad, and Politifact says Reid's claim is half-true. You might want to start checking your sources, especially if they are rolling in as chain emails.

PolitiFact | Reid ad claims Angle supported a Scientology plan to give massages to prisoners

We also called Angle's campaign for comment about the program and Angle's involvement. Campaign staffer Lee Adams said "it was something she looked at and ultimately said no." As we noted earlier, it wasn't so much that Angle decided the program didn't have merit. Rather, she made a political calculation that it didn't have enough support to pass, and so she declined to offer legislation that was DOA.

For the record, Adams said, despite some rumors circulating around, Angle is not a Scientologist.

"She's a Southern Baptist," he said.

As for the claim in the Reid ad, we think it's accurate to point out Angle's one-time support for a controversial drug and crime rehabilitation program based on the teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. But we think it's misleading to sum it up as back rubs for prisoners. There's a lot more to it than that. Some may find the idea of taxpayer support for the program equally as troubling, but this was more about supporting a controversial drug treatment program than one aimed at coddling criminals with massages. And so we rate the ad's claim Half True

Sarawind: I truly don't want to sound mean about this, but you need to starting making posts that are better grounded in fact, or you will continue to be considered one of the least credible people in these forums. I'm going to politely assume that you are ill-informed rather than assume that you are purposely telling lies. Perhaps you're listening to news programs that are more interested in propaganda than the truth. It's starting to make you look foolish.

LaKeViewToo I read the link to the Wall Street Journal article that Margarita posted above and it appears you did not. Your continued attempts to discredit me because I have different views that you have become tedious and don't reflect favorably on you. I made my post from content in the Wall Street Journal article and I will post it for your pleasure below. Who's looking foolish and ill-informed now?

By STEPHEN MOORE

Liberal groups and Mr. Reid are gleeful that a "right wing extremist" has won the GOP nomination. At a recent fund raising dinner for the majority leader in Las Vegas, President Barack Obama labeled her "extreme, even for a Republican." Some Republicans privately grumble that she may be unelectable because of her staunchly conservative stands. And to be sure, some of her positions, such as banning fluoridated water or providing massages to rehabilitate convicts, seem a bit, well, odd.

This quote flat out contradicts your post #60. It also kind of points out that you support a rather flakey candidate. I'm simply pointing out that all this contributes to your lack of credibility.

Lake View and Rita you have taken my post and feebly tried to make it into something it is not. Read it again! Angle is against convict tax-funded massages. I jokingly/sarcasticlly said why don't we add pedicures and botox treatments for the convicts to point out the idiocy of massages for criminals. Too much Kool-Aid isn't good for you.

Because you don't care for a candidate does not constitute flakiness.

This is a quote from Politifact:

"As a Nevada Assemblywoman in 2003, Angle pushed for Nevada to try a controversial drug and criminal rehabilitation program based on the teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard."

Your post #60 stated that libs ragged her for opposing the "massages" that came with the L. Ron Hubbard program.

I don't even particularly like Harry Reid, but I'm really a fan of the truth. I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt that you were misinformed, but you proved me wrong.

My opinion is that candidates that put much credence in the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard are flaky.

Lake View, dear, for some reason you seem unable to grasp the comment I made jokingly about convict massages. Just saying convict massages is funny if you think about it. I'm through with this subject and your vendetta trying to prove me as less than you.

Politifact is a left leaning group that skew the news to their liberal agenda. Sort of like the New York Times - if a story is too good to be true, why bother fact-checking.
