John boy?

I loved Kristy tonight- Simon was wrong! Mariah got it right - I bet it will be a hit on itunes tomorrow!

Both Davids were on fire, Jason smoldering behind, followed by Kristy for me!

I hope KLC doesn't go home tomorrow. She has been improving every week!

I felt bad for Brooke - she was shaking so hard in the last couple minutes.

I'm with ya, SM. Maybe not so much about KLC, but she's ok. Yep, Brooke was a bundle of nerves. Visibly shaking. God luv her.
David C...loved him. Not as much as my beloved MJ, but he was on fire, I'll agree!

Given that I don't know very many of Mariah's songs, it was all pretty new to me. Going into the show, I thought Carly, Syesha and David A would do well.
I am surprised that Kristy - who totally has the Patsy Cline vibe happening, was my favorite, Jason made me relax and enjoy his song and the end of David Cook's rendition was very good, I didn't like the beginning that much (same as last week - I didn't like the beginning of Innocent but the middle to the end was very good.)
Brooke, was shaking like a leaf, so much so, that I think the producers probably had the cameras pulled off of her to not destroy her credibility.

I liked David A; he is pretty consistent but it was not my favorite song of his. Believe it or not, I love "We're the Voice." It just gets me fired up! When I need motivation, I put that song on!

Syesha has a beautiful voice but I haven't been emotionally connected to her. Last year when Jordin sang "I Who Have Nothing" for the first time, I got chills. I haven't felt that on any song with Syesha. I thought last night would have been her opportunity but it was just a good performance.
There have been many good to great performances so far this season, more than last year I think. But, no one has given me that feeling like Jordin did. "Hallelujah" was great, "Hello" was great, "Billie Jean" was great, "Imagine" (although not my favorite) was great, "Little Sparrow" was great. Other songs I have left out have been great. But where is the winner? Maybe it is coming! I hope so!

I think the reason that there is no clear winner right now is because they are all great singers/performers and several are worthy of being the American Idol. In years past I don't think we've had such strong top 10.

I'm not a Mariah fan either but the girl can definitely sing. I was so looking forward to hearing "Without You." MC actually sings it better than the original (Harry Nilsson). But what a let down when Carly (sp?) sang it. At first I thought she'd be able to wail on it but she failed. I just don't think she had time to learn it, listen to it enough times and get the true feeling from it.

You make an interesting point. The time frame the "real" singers have to make a record, choosing, getting the feeling, arranging, changing, certainly takes longer than the few days these contestants have, which for most, might not be the genre they even want to be in. They all really work hard, for sometimes very little gratification and to the detriment of their potential career. 30 million see and hear their song, who might have a different opinion than the judges and their agenda!

I also wanted to add that Brooke's credibility wasn't exactly what I meant. I think they want her to stay in the competition and took the cameras off of her in compassion. At least, that is what I'm hoping.

I find it amazing that they can even learn the words to the songs let alone add feeling, choreography, instruments, etc.. all in just a few days.

Though it's far easier to memorize songs than it is a block of text. Remember Schoolhouse Rock? It cama about when one of the original songwriters for it was trying to figure out why his eight year old kid was having such a hard time memorizing multiplication tables and then turn around and quickly be able to sing any new Beatles song perfectly not too long after it came out.

I am always in awe of anyone who is in the cut-throat world of performing arts, at any level. It is brutal and you really need thick skin. I know I would never be able to do it. Memorizing the lyrics & music is the least of their worries. It's doing it ALL better than everyone else.

Just watched Tuesday nights show....

David Cook was my fave, I just think he is HOT

Jason was good and unique, like him. I just think he is a sellable product:dunno: I loved the beach party luau feel. Ya think he could come to our soiree???

Syeshia did give me chills, for the first time.

I just dont like KLC, I dont know why.

David A, I still can not get past the "little cute and cuddly boy", he can sing though..

Carley, I like her but I am scared she is going soon...

Poor Brooke, I bet missing her sisters wedding can put a damper on things. I thought she was going to cry at the end her voice was shaking so much.

I guess we will see who goes home very soon....
