Ellen DeGeneres new judge! I love her. What do you Idol Addicts think? She didn't do such a good job on "So You Think You Can Dance" from what I read, but I love her and I think she will bring a lot of humor to the show. Thoughts?

I am so with you on this one. I LOVE Ellen and am excited she will be on AI. I don't think I would've watched this year if Paula was back on and the other girl was just as annoying.
I saw Ellen on SYTYCD and she was funny! But like she said this a.m., she'll bring an unbiased opinion instead of a critique to the panel.

I like Ellen. I think she'll be a judge like me.... I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but i can hear! I think she'll be great!

I usually only tune in to Idol when it gets narrowed down quite a bit, but I'm excited enough about Ellen being on it to watch early on and see what she's like.

Not too sure yet. I'll have to watch and see. I think it will def change the dynamic. I just don't get how a non musical person can judge one's singing ability. I guess they have the others to do that. I also heard that J-Lo wanted the job...anyone else hear that?
I hadn't heard that but I'm not surprised. She hasn't had a lot going on in her life professionally of late so... it makes since that she'd want the job. Not sure how much formal training she has either.
It probably came down to viewer likability. 
I like Ellen and all, but I'm jut confused by this choice. That's all...just confused.
