And let me add my own sentiment about my feelings towards SANJAYA. Not as a person, but as a SINGER, which is what this show is all about. :puke:

I don't watch idol, but I did see sanjaya perform when my mother was visiting weeks ago (she had to tune in), and it struck me immediately that his voice was weak and mediocre at best. I thought he was cute, but immediately knew that his talent was limited compared to most of the others performing.

ya'll are making me want to watch, but I think I'll just stay out of it.

Please people, support who you choose. Freedom of choice! Say all the positive things you want, but life would be a much better place if we spent time trying to build people up instead of tearing them down. All the negative energy that is going into who should be here and who shouldn't, would be better spent on supporting your choice. You like Blake - Ok!, Melinda -Ok! Whomever, but we don't need to destroy someone if you don't have the same opinion as someone else. I really think it is terrible how people are angered and sickened by Sanjaya. If you don't like him, fine. Believe it or not, there are people (pre-teens, teens and moms) who happen to love him. If you don't believe me, go online to the boards at americanidol.com or dialidol.com. I don't think that makes them any less a music lover than anyone else.
I am a teacher, coach and mom and by the way, come from a strong musical background - my birth father is a Professional Musician, and I have played the flute since I was in the 4th grade. I try my best to encourage and build up students in any way I can. You never know what kind of difference you make.
So, support your choice, just please don't tear mine down.

PS. I still like Phil's vocals the best!

Ok, so we can't dissaprove of your choice? We can't voice our opinions about who we don't like, but you can voice your opinions about who you do like? Hmmmm....I do not think any of us are destroying Sanjaya as a PERSON, like I said, this is a singing competition and IMHO, he can't sing. That is my opinion and I should have the right to say it.

Now on with the show...and I hope Melinda wins.

I don't watch AI anymore. I don't care for all the elimination rounds. However, I did watch part of ET last evening. I guess Gwen Steffani was the guest judge (?). She said she tried to tell this Sanjaya person that he should not sing that particular song. Maybe he should have heeded her advice. It was pretty bad. That ,coupled with the hair thing made it very embarrassing to watch. I don't discount that a lot of young people probably love him. I think Barney, Veggie Tales and the Wiggles are entertaining to certain age groups. But American Idols, they ain't. I think Sanjaya is in the same category. If he didn't go this week, he'll be gone soon. He'll probably be able to spin a fair amount of success from his appearances on the show.

not you, but once again, another thread is turning into a train wreck. :sosad:

....and I hate that. I just kinda thought it was a little friendly rivalry type thing..you know like the football threads...each one of us pulling for our fave. I have nothing against ANY of the competitors personally, but it's just funn to speculate what's gonna happen each week. We all certainly have our favorites, but that's not to say that we wish ANY of them anything but good things in their careers. It's just funn to see what they wear, what they sing, their hair  , and the judges reactions. Lord knows we're not nearly as critical as Simon...it's all in funn--nothing mean about it--really. :D  :D
