Yes! Brilliant - save the planet, enrich the farmers and starve the masses of developing countries - the new mantra of the global warming alarmists.

The south had a major drought, which happens from time to time, regardless of global warming. Cotton, soy beans, fruit, corn, etc...all cost more for that reason, plus the lower $ in the world economy. Many factors........ global warming? I am not convinced.

The only way "global warming" is responsible is that in our attempts to avoid it (food based biofuels) and find oil alternatives, we've driven up food prices.

As the most promising biofuels are non-food based - sugarcane, algae etc. it is hopefully a short term issue, but there are a lot of politics involved (Iowa ethanol corn and the primary etc.)

Who woulda thunk it? Putting food in our gas tank drove up the price of food. In the words of that great modern day pholosopher Homer --- doohh. I suppose Al won't be adding a Nobel Peace Prize in Economics for An Inconvenient Truth. I see some leaders of developing nations are calling bio-fuels a crime against humanity. Al better lock up the mansion. Nice name Booger - remember I have the key.

I don't think it is biofuels just yet. I understand it more as to speculation on the futures of the foods that might be used for biofuels.
