Yep, skeeters and malaria. I had a malarial type of illness from a tick. Nasty chills and shakes. Fortunately not fatal, but still nasty. I am over it, but took a looong time for the docs to figure out what it was. The mediciane for it is really expensive, $600 bucks a bottle and I took it for 4 months!
So, in third world countries, I am sure they can't afford it, and some strains I hear are incurable.
I take a lot of B-Complex and skeeters don't like the smell of it. Works great.

Mango, hope that bottle lasted more than a month at that price! Might have to get some B Complex. Mosquitoes are very bad around here.

They're bad here too and you'd think with a drought, they wouldn't be.... hate them too!

Good tip, Mango! Will have to remember that! They never touch mr. dd--he's got that dark, olivey, mediterannean skin--tans in one day. skeeters don't like all that olive oil i guess!

The B-complex excretes through sweat, and the smell is a good repellent the docs told me. Also, citronella, peppermint oil and lemongrass oil are good natural repellents.

B-Complex is cheap, gives you some energy, and what your body doesn't need it comes out! ;-) Get the oils too. But just spray a little on first, and make sure your not allergic or anything. I can't use citronella. But peppermint il and the others listed are good. Skeeters are also attracted to dark clothing and extremities that are cooler.

They like it. You would excrete more carbon dixiode after exercising for example. More oxygen intake, the more carbon dioxide excreted.

That was an interesting article about the candiru catfish wasn't it??? Don't like what they can do though! Ouch!
