That's sweet of you to post about our dear Ann. She was truly a unique and interesting person. I don't follow politics too much, but she always had a good story or a quick come back line. She will be missed. :sosad:

She was so cool Toots! Thanks for bringing it up. I always admired her and couldn't figure out why she wasn't re-elected. (Oh, never mind, that's probably too much politics. ;-) )

A life over too soon, certainly, but one well (and honestly) lived. Bravo.

I met her at a play in New York several years ago. It was a benefit show with a bunch of celebs. She was there with Liz Smith of the NY Post and a bunch of other women. It was during the political season when there were lots of people running for the NJ US Senate seat that was vacated by Sen Torecelli. I went up to Gov Richards and asked if she was in NY trying to seek the nomination for the open seat. She got a good belly laugh out of that. I know it sounds not funny, you had to be there to appreciate it. I always admired her moxey.

Oh what a big voice lost. I am so sad to hear this news. The world does not have enough "pistols" like Ann Richards.

She was a real cowgirl. Called 'em like she saw 'em. Got in alot of trouble with her mouth...(like other Texans we know). Texas will miss her.

i have always admired Ann Richards and she will be truly missed. I also love watching her animated on King of the Hill. Anyone see the episodes when she was on the show?

I never saw her on King of the Hill, would love to see that for sure.

I was sorry to hear of her passing, not a good way to go, either. I admire her daughter Cecile, as well.

Attributed to Gov. Richards, speaking of a political opponent: " Aw hell, he wears his pants so tight that if he farted he'd blow his boots off!"
