Thanks for the 411, SJ. Can't wait to check it out. I do  simple, down home cookin' and good stuff.

Skunky, the article clearly states the box that was labeled grouper from malaysia was in their kitchen after the investigation had already taken place and they, the investigative reporters, were now back for follow up questioning. :ninja:
Then they went on to say the box of fish they, the reaurant, had bought the tested fish from was from a local company in Panama City and even named their source. :scratch:Who went on to say he only bought from reputable sources but did not volunteer his source. Aha, the possible missing link :yikes:
Sorry but it seems you want to blame other countries' and even the customers for 'not wanting to pay for quality' when you said above,'...so the problem is way up the food chain." That is not the case. It is actually a very strict process controlling seafood entering this country. Consider this. 80% of the seafood consumed in the US is imported. It is very strictly regulated. I did not just pull all that inspection stuff out of my a$$ above either, about the FDA, USDA, US Customs and even the DEA inspecting fish coming in to this country and a doctor of vetinary medicine who works for that countries' dept of agriculture verifies all species going out. Hubba bubba earns his leaving selling seafood so I referred to the professional, plus I always over hear stuff about trucks waiting for customs to clear loads. Fish is our livelihood. It is a very seriously regulated business. That's why folks go to jail for fraud. Sounds like there should be more frequent reporters doing grouper analysis just to keep folks on their toes and grouper in our sandwiches, especially when that's what we want to buy and are happy to pay for as long as we aren't being :lie: to on the menu.
Oh and BTW, NancyEsq, hubbabubba says no worries 'basa' is an excellent flavored whitemeat Vietnamese catfish.;-)
