Another study, and more bad results for charter schools

Good or bad, they offer parents more control and choice over the education their kids get. I'm 100% for charter schools based on this alone.

Parental choice is the reason that the schools in South Walton are bursting at the seams while schools north of the bay are vastly under utilized. I don't have a problem with that, but I do have a problem with people wanting endless choices and less property taxes.

Sadly this is not necessarily the case. Too many parents don't give a flip about their child's education.

A terribly sad fact indeed that there are parents who care so little for their children. Unfortunately, the belief that our government can take care of problems people create for themselves by their own choices and actions, while perhaps good intentioned, is simply incorrect. The well meaning belief that a benevolent governing class can "redistribute" resources to correct such problems leads to the mess in which we now find ourselves in education, healthcare (smoking and obesity), and housing.

Instead of withholding resources to those looking for creative ways to locally improve education, I think those who proclaim the desire to make a difference should be looking for ways to responsibly assist motivated communities to develop better schools and then apply that which works more generally

Actually the majority of our current deficit is due to two wars where we decided to go show other countries "how to do it".
