Yeah, right. Somehow I don't think that if the property was sold for $8,000,000, the 8 units will be "affordable housing"

If my logic is correct....for someone to invest OVER $8,000,000 would indicate a high level of confidence in Siena becoming a reality!! hmmmmmm...:eek:

Not necessarily. I know of lots being sold for almost a million each north of 30-A with no good beach access and only room for one residence. A healthy profit could be made on this 1.171 acre beachfront piece of property if they built one beachfront house and a couple of very beach-close houses on it.

Nevertheless, are you suggesting that the owners have friends in high places?

I don't know about that BR. Just my observation based on the facts about the price....it would seem incredible to pay that for the land for just a single residence. But it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong!

I contacted Cindy Meadows' office and was told that the Sienna Place on Moll Drive off U.S. 98 is on the agenda August 22, not the one on Eastern Lake Road

It won't be the first time some developer "over paid" for a piece of land...the likes of Toll & D.R. Horton are unloading options on overpriced land as we speak.

If the owner has a single working brain cell, he knows that trying to build overpriced condos now is like throwing money into the toilet--more likely than not, he'll go through the process of rezoning and designing and then either shelve the project for a later time or try to sell it off as a package deal to someone who has considerably more money than common sense.
