If so, please share any info. you have. I found an abandoned book on Thailand and figure it's a sign I should go. The book doesn't offer info on hotels, etc.

The Thais I know around here tend to regard Bangkok as a necessary evil on the way to visiting family outside that city- very crowded and hot all the time.

Not me, but my 28 year old niece went, she love it, rode an elephant, stayed in a hut.

The photos were fabulous.

I can get info from her as to where they stayed etc. if you want it.

I know they went to Koh Bubu.

Stay away from Monkey Island and I think they are under a state of emergency right now, Thailand, I mean.

Alicia, I ran into a GF yesterday who mentioned a possible political unrest-of course, I was in denial. Thanks for posting-usually the unrest and crazy stuff begins AFTER I leave. Maybe the book was abandoned for a diff. reason. Thanks!
