If you want quick and easy, go to Angelfire.com. I own travelingdancers.com, but I'm not using it for anything right now. It costs me something like 8 bucks a month for them to host it and keep the domain registered for you...

Have you tried GoDaddy.com? Maybe Danica Patrick will pay you a visit!

I have done multiple web pages for business applications for myself. I like this site http://www.ebizwebpages.com/

You can buy the domain name there and they will host it as well as provide 100's of different templates for all kinds of businesses. If you need a storefront, you can add that feature. Their basic plan is $19.95 a month but it has endless possibilities and unlimited pages. The thing I like about it is you don't have to buy the domain name in one place then find a host and have it linked. It all depends on the extent of the web site you plan to build. The cost to buy the domain name was about $20 or so if I remember correctly. I've had it for a few years. You could probably get it cheaper somewhere else, but not by much.

Check it out- they offer a free trial. If you plan on having someone build the site, then purchase the domain name from any of the ones mentioned here, like Geo's suggestion godaddy. I've done both.

iPower.com is good. Cheap domain name registration and low cost dependable hosting.

Avoid NetworkSolutions like the plague. If you use their site to see if a domain is available, they will hold that name for five days and apparently even shop it to domain sniffers. Very underhanded trick.

As for hosting, it may depend on the type of website you have. For example, if you plan to host a video site, there are a number of capabilities the host should have and most don't.

This is over my head. :D

Thanks y'all. I was on Keller Williams site last night and it was less expensive than GoDaddy. GoDaddy sounded like a good deal up front but after they scared you into buying protection the price was more like a few hundred / name.

Thank goodness I didn't go to Network Solutions. They sound like a real nice outfit

I'll try Anglefire (and wait for Danaca's visit ), Ipower and Ebiz.
