Simplicity has pattens for halloween costumes that are just cut and go. If you have a fabric store near by, if not go to the Simplicity website, if you don't buy the pattern you can get ideas. I would work on the latest, coolest costume only to discover my daughter thought I wanted to make one and would have been fine with old clothers and some face paint. She thought my old "hippie" clothes were cool and made the best costumes

Costume

Thanks for your encouragement but it would take a miracle for me to be able to create a costume. I am not a crafty girl

then check out a pattern. If only to get a little inspiration. Not everybody can create on their own until they get a little confidence. Seriously, Simplicity patterns will help. Even with the use of a glue gun or that iron-on tape stuff. The ladies in the fabric stores will take you under their wings and help you fly!!

and btw, I'm not crafty either at all. A few Halloween costumes are about the only crafty things I've ever done!

Halloween costume

I used Dress & Drape last year and she did a great job and was very reasonably priced. Her name is Eveline and her number is 837-9063. She lives near the Destin elementary school. She can sew anything you want. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I'm not crafty either. I mean, I use safety pins to re-attach buttons to avoid sewing. Sewing is just not something I do. For goodness sakes, I only iron twice a year, and that's only if I have to!

But I wanted a Gator Halloween costume. I bought a Simplicity pattern, followed the directions and ... wala, I had a Gator costume. I cheated on the Gator head -- bought that in Gainesville. My students love it when I wear it to class on Halloween, even though they hate the Gators, as does everyone else who is not a Gator fan. Of course, I give my students candy from my jack-o-lantern. I got that Laffy Taffy.

Honey, if I can do it, anyone can do it.
