At least with Stoli, we did a trade deal by which the then Soviet Union could import Stoli and Pepsi could export its soft drinks to the Soviets but then again, I just discovered that Stoli is imported to the US by Pernod who just bought Absolut. Small world. I am not a vodka drinker since vodka is one of only two liquors which can kill you but if I were, I would partake of the Texas stuff...

Actually all liquor can kill you. We do have some yute's on here that take some of this as gospel.

Please allow me to play devil's advocate for a moment.

I'm an international brand, and I want to make an international "splash" but pay let's say, I don't know . . . Mexican prices for advertising. So I poke the giant using its neighbor. Given America's world popularity these days, these "idiots" may be marketing geniuses, who - yes - have heard of youtube.

Just a thought. . . .;-)

Very good point.

In keeping with the original question: No. Hail No.

There's far too many choices of vodka brands to let this change much of anything. Absolut was never my firtht choice anyway.
