I think you might be on to something. My dad paid about 4k for my first one, which lasted a whopping 13 months. My current one cost me $20.00 at the courthouse, and we are working on 17 years.

We didn't spend anywhere NEAR that. I think, for 125 guests, we ended up spending about 7K. (in 2004). I can't imagine spending 27K!!
Although, I guess if it wasn't my money, I might have. I have a cousin who spent about 40K on hers.. :roll:
