I know that this is probaly irrelevant because i will end up doing what I want anyways, but I just thought I would ask.. (and start a new topic)

Does anyone have any good baby boy names they are willing to share? My husband and I are expecting in August and can't seem to agree on a name. :dunno:

My favorites are Eli Mason and Gavin Joseph. His is Mason Eli...

We don't know the sex yet, but we have our girl name. Hadley. :D

Will you use both names? If so, bad idea IMO to name a boy something so close to "Ellie May".

I think both Eli and Mason are good names though, not as fond of Gavin, Joseph is a classic.

Good point Scooter! I hadn't thought of Ellie May! :) Joseph is my father in laws name, so it has meaning... Originally, we both agreed on Eli Joseph until Travis told me that the more he thought about it the more he didn't like Eli. Oh well... I guess we still have time. Hopefully it'll be a girl and we won't have to worry about a boy name! :)

Here's the social security baby names database:

Popular baby names

I kind of like giving #30-#60 an extra look- at that frequency the child's got lower odds of being one of 3-4 kids with the same name in kindergarten but still has decent odds of finding the little semi-personalized knicknacks with their name on it at Alvin's Island and the like.

From the 2008 lists in that range, my favorites are Dylan, Evan, Isaac, Justin, Cameron, Conner, Aidan, and Owen.

CONGRATS!!! :D

I am a big fan of family names - and at least using them as middle names. My son's first name is my maiden name and my 2nd son's middle name is a strong fmly name. Go back in your family tree and look and see. Something will click.

Keep us posted with your choice - how exciting!!

Think like a mean middle schooler when naming your child, it'll cut down on the mistakes. Also, look at the initials, you don't want them spelling something embarrassing. I went to school with a kid who's monogrammed backpack read NAD.
