http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly7NS35Mmx8&feature=channel_page[/"]YouTube - Back Into the Water/Crab attacks Snake

Well, here is my youtube intro... "In this episode of 'Another Walk with Mike' we get back into the water. You'll see footage of shark, along with the current snorkeling conditions since our recent tropical storm. You'll also see a crab attack a snake in the sand dunes. You never quite know what to expect during our expeditions, but it's all here, in 'Another Walk with Mike'."

While the water looks great from the surface, it's not ideal for snorkeling just yet. I think the storm tore up the algea into teeny weeny pieces and they are just floating all along from the surface to the bottom. I still saw some stuff out there and added some footage from a walk and the only 'live' shark footage obtained over the summer.

While my camera was broken, I had my brother over and we got some brief footage of the shark. Of course, his hands weren't as steady as mine. In fact, and unfortunately, he did not get the part where I swam down and actually held onto the shark. But the footage is worth the watch nonetheless.

I do hope you enjoy. Oh, and there is footage of a crab attacking a snake at Deer Lake SP.

Love yall

Cool

Mikecatadjuster: So glad you got a new camera. I really enjoy your video and images. Thank you. You put even the jellies in a different perspective of more beautiful than avoidable. You have a still picture of a little boy in a boat at what appears to be a spring. I am coming down in 2 weeks and would love to finally see and swim in one. Is there a spring you would highly recommend not too far from Seagrove? Thanks again.

That stud in the kayak was my son, Evan. The particular spring he was in use to be a commercial operation but is now closed. You can still get to it by boat, and it is quite a lovely spring. Vortex springs is another spring, north of Ponce DeLeon springs state park.

Tell you what... look at this website and if you need anything else, just ask me. www.tfn.net/springs/ It will prvide directions and great information on what you need.

Thank you for taking an interest. I love when I get messages of what others have seen or found, or like yours, a simple thanks. For instance someone wrote on another of my threads about someone finding Spanish armor years ago. Neat stuff.

But here's an UPDATE of current conditions. The water is better today than yesterday and yesterday was better than the previous one. Today I went out for a short stint and found a few shells, a swim mask, mackerel, and a large number of lady fish. All of which were heading east. Also, there was a large Sea Turtle that passed through the Seagrove area several times but I was unable to get it on film.

The Puffer Fish are apparently still here, as I came across one and did film it. I'll include the cute little monster in an upcoming episode. I actually placed my hand under one and brought it up to the surface and showed a tourist before the storm came. He questioned if it was poisonous or not, and the thought dawned on me. Actually, the one I flmed today, after some persistent filming on my part, it began to come 'at me' so I left it alone. I kinda felt bad, feeling I'd imposed a bit too much.

I talked to some tourist on the beach from Atlanta, which cut in on my snorkel time, but they were swell. Good people. But the water is not where it needs to be. Better, but not back yet. I'll have my fingers crossed for tomorrow and may travel to a slightly different location, maybe out near Deer Lake SP. I want to check something out.

Good day to all my little sowal friends. Keep in touch and don't be too shy. I like hearing your stories about Nature and the Gulf. Do tell.

I am thankful for replies like yours. This morning was fabulous and teh clarity is getting better. And believe me, The Gulf is Alive.

I had a huge King Makerel pass through a school of lady fish, right before my eyes. I kinda cuaght it on film. You'll have to see my next video. Hopefully I'll have it up tonight. I may go back out for a little snorkeling, but I definitely got enough footage this morning to make a full film.

And again, thanks for your sweetness to take time out to comment on my stuff. Makes me fel good and inspires me to do more ;-)
