Growing up south of here we spent entire weeks camping out on the islands and swimming across the inlets and outlets and passes, skiing, tubing, snorkeling. My dad's good friend was a professional photographer who took aerial shots of the coast. Most of them showed many many sharks in the bay and in the Gulf. Like I said, we were out there sun up to sun down and the only thing that ever happened was a freaky encounter when a remora attached to my leg.
