I bet they come out great!
Kurt, in my neighborhood, we all have cedar siding, and after we stain, it doesn't seem to stop them from coming back.

A few for SWMA and 20 or so for the bayou.
Or just one the size of a Seaside carriage house
I have a friend who has a Ph.D. in biology and is a bat expert. He has been on Atlanta TV with his expertise. He probably wouldn't appreciate me advertising his email address to strangers, but I will PM it to you, Kurt.

When we lived in Gainesville FL, our biologist friend had very good success with his in a tree about 15 to 20 feet off the ground. He had a wooded lot and it was not real close to the house.

In Gainesville by Lake Alice near my house there - as I recall it took quite a few years for the bats to inhabit.

I don't know how long it took him to get them established. You better get started now then eh? If others are in the area already, it might be easier/quicker.
