For those of you who enjoy beer - we've recently discovered La Fin du Monde and love it --- not for the 9% alcohol content, but its just a super tasty and delicious beer. It only comes in a 4 pack -- be careful, it's pretty potent stuff. We've been able to purchase it at Blue Mountain Liquors & the liquor store by Watercolor Publix.

From the website:
http://www.unibroue.com/products/fin.cfm
In February 1994, after 18 months of research, Unibroue launched La Fin du Monde (the end of the world). It is a 9 percent alcohol, triple fermentation beer. This type of beer was originally developed by the monks of the Middle Ages to be served on special occasions. La Fin du Monde is a deluxe beer made by triple fermentation and a unique way of straining the yeast. This method produces an unexpectedly subtle flavour. With its champagne-like effervescence, it has a vigourous presence in the mouth, which accentuates its strong personality. Slightly tart, with the balanced flavours of wild spices, malt and hops, it belongs to the class of great Trappist beers and, in this regard, is a North American first. At meals, it can replace white or red wines and enhances the flavour of most dishes.

 me some New Belgium, almost everything they brew is great. Have to look for the La Fin! Anybody ever heard of or had Tusker, a Kenyan beer? A server at this great restaurant in Key West recommended it to me, and it was really good. She went on and on about how it's virtually impossible to get, so now I want to find out for myself.
chris v, if you still have a hankerin' for some Fat Tire in June, I'd be happy to help you out!

Might as well go for the gold; Chimay

Chimay is an authentic Trappist beer that is it is brewed within a Trappist monastery, under the control and responsibility of the monastic community. Only 6 beers in Belgium can carry the appellation "Trappist": Chimay, Orval, Rochefort, Westmalle, Westvleteren and Achel.

Are you sure it wasn't Tire Bite, from Flying Dog? I'll stop by Chan's today regardless.

Thanks to the Easter Bunny, I have some Chimay brews in the fridge. They are tasty, but I don't like the fruity trappist beers with flavors of strawberry, etc. Too fruity and too fizzy. Might as well drink a wine cooler.
