No joke! Let me tell you my day. I have applied for numerous jobs, signed up for a pottery class, went shopping for a book shelf, took Shooter on a walk, cleaned out a closet, and moved some furniture around. Oh yeah and I posted on sowal

God luv ya, jf. I can't wait to see the pottery! :D

After watching shark attack hour on Fox News this morning Australia looks less and less appealing. Plus I already live in Paradise, now if I could just get someone to pay me to do it.

Demand for "best job in the world" crashes website

Wed Jan 14, 11:34 am ET
SYDNEY (Reuters) ? The chance to be the caretaker of a tiny tropical island in Australia has sparked so much interest around the world that a rush of applications crashed the website advertising the post.
The job, which offers a salary of $105,000 to spend six months on the Great Barrier Reef island of Hamilton, has been inundated with hundreds of thousands of prospective candidates.
An official from the state of Queensland, which is offering the position, said the job was created as an antidote to the global economic slump and was being advertised in 18 countries including the United States and China.
Local media said technicians had to restore the website (www.islandreefjob.com) after it could not cope with the volume of interest and crashed for several hours. Some sections are still not up and running.
Duties for the so-called "best job in the world" include feeding ocean fish, cleaning a pool and collecting deliveries of mail that arrive by plane.
The successful candidate will have to go scuba diving, snorkeling and hiking and enjoy at least 25 nearby island resorts. Thrown in is a luxury three-bedroom home and transportation to and from the island.
No skills, nor experience is needed, and there is no age requirement. The job starts in July.

I'm betting Australia is hedging their bets that their employees diary doesn't read like this:

Day 60- The doctors tell me that my hand will be able to bend in a few days after getting it stuck in that giant clams mouth. Did you know they are hermaphrodites?

Day 90- Saw a loggerhead and Olive Ridley Turtle. I wonder if Olive Ridley has a FB page? I love snorkeling the reef. So may beautiful coral wonders. I'll try not to touch the red coral next time. Taking showers hurts but it's all well worth it.

Day 120- I know I have been reporting about the sharks sleeping in the afternoon, but today I did that great white circling around. Wow, he's so big. Must have been that large school of fish he was chasing. They move so fast, too. Good thing I got back in the boat to watch him from a higher elevation.

Day 140- Well, here I go again back to the reef. I wonder why no one recognized me in the photos I sent. I know I have a little sunburn and my arms a little crooked, but do I really look a raisin? :dunno:

Day 150- I think the Great White Shark has adapted to my snorkeling the reef. He seems to be coming closer out of curiosity. Perhaps I should wear that metal netting they gave me.

Day 170- OK, %$%*& this. I am really $%#@* sick of this snorkeling %$#&^*
Do I look like a ^%$*&^% fish? It takes me 2 hours to put all this ^%$#* sun screen on and wait for # 90 to dry. Then do it again a few hours later.

Day 1 - This place is beautiful, but there are NO Applebee's on the island, this is going to be hell.

Day 2 - While the jellyfish really stung, I thought it a bit rude that the locals began peeing on me. I mean really, wouldn't you scream if a jellyfish bit you?

Day 3 - I'm starting to believe in this global warming thing. This is the 3rd day of 90+ degree temperatures. Hello! It's January.

Day 4 - This thing washed up on shore, it's called a boom-o-rang. I can't get rid of it, every time I throw it back in the water it comes back.
