where is best in area

Not sure what family style means. On 30-A I think Stinky's will be the best food. If the desire is to have a place where the little ones can go nuts and nobody cares (at the expense of mediocre food), Elmo's is it.
Nobody has mentioned Hurricane's. They are pretty good and kid friendly, too.

Just to let everyone know what?s going on with Nick?s on the beach.

My sister in law & nephew are venturing into business together. While both are new to the restaurant business, they enter into this venture with great enthusiasm & support from family & friends. Please give Debra & Colby as much SoWal.com support as we can & I?m sure they will provide us with a fine dining experience.

Not sure but I think the name will be JC?s

"Family Style" is a type of service where they set food on the table like the typical family used to sit down to in the evenings. Not the case much anymore. For example, there might be one platter of fish, a bowl of beans, a bowl of potatoes, etc, rather than portioning each plate a limited amount. Seconds are typical in "family style," but they bring more of only that which needs replenishing. The reason it isn't done much in the restaurant biz is due to the enormous waste of food/cost. As I mentioned, there aren't many restaurants with family style service in our area. Bait House at WaterColor used to try it in the evening before they closed, and Stinky's does/did it maybe once a week.

Here is a link to Stinky's "Family Style" Dinner, which they are featuring tonight. It sounds a little different than the traditional "family style" service, and sounds more like a limited-choice menu, but I haven't tried it yet, so I am uncertain of how it is served.

I like Bayou Bills in Inlet Beach. Nothing beats a Bayou salad with tuna on top. Plus, the service is aways great and the little guy loves to play video games and taunt the fish in the aquarium.

Stinky's is my favorite on the beach here, but only if you get Kelly Carr  to be your server. My family from North of the bay loves to come over here to The Love Shack. Momma likes that it is cheap, family friendly and has great specials like $.49 gumbo.
