My daughter will be driving from Starkville, MS to WDW with some friends in May 2011. There are a couple of ways she could go-anyone know the BEST way? Mapquest sends them down through AL towards Sowal, so that must be the shortest mileage. Thanks in advance!

I think I-10 would be your friend, unless the need a taste of the beach.

They could also watch for a SouthWest teaser rate from Panama City Beach to Orlando for $30, driving to PCB, then flying to Disney.

Thanks for the info--has anyone ever taken MS 45 South all the way down to Mobile? I've been the Hattiesburg way, and was wondering about the 45 way. It's a long haul any way they go--just trying to find the best way.

Yes that is the way I would go from Starkville. 45 to Mobile, I-10 to I-75 and yes it's a very long drive.

When we come from Memphis, we go 78 to Montgomery, then 231 over to Dothan, AL then down to I-10 at Marianna, then over to I-75.

Don't forget turnpike to Orlando at Wildwood. From DeFuniak to Hotel lobby in 5.5 hours.

True at Wildwood, Florida, you get in the left lane and take the Florida Turnpike on in.

Depending on where you are staying we get off the Turnpike and take the new toll road in.

Exit# 267A on Florida's Turnpike connects to TOLL 429 "Apopka/Tampa" and you take the southbound choice towards Tampa.

There is one mainline toll plaza a few miles after getting onto the 429; $1.25; staffed 24/7.

Then use Exit #8 "Hartzog Road/Disney World" which connects you eastbound onto Western Way.

Thanks Minnie-I know about the 429-will be very convenient since we will be at Windsor Hills. Thanks to everyone for their tips so that I can make sure my 21 year old makes it safe and sound. Go Dawgs!
