Bible verses on weapons

Great news about the resolution of the issue. I am confused- are we not allowed to talk about issues unless we have done all the research, or after there has been a resolution or end to the problem? This is a community message board-I doubt the Dept. Of Defense is looking to us for real info.

Hey All Y'all! I heard I was being flattered over here. The irony......a thread I don't visit.

I looked at this thread when it first went up, but wasn't really interested. I agree with all of you, actually. Scooterbug, you're right: we are not fighting a jihad and should not give the jihadists a reason to believe we are.

I see two New Testament verses, a Gospel and an Epistle. Any reference from the Torah? Just to be fair. I can see the benefit of a biblical or religious reference for a young soldier. In my heart, I see nothing /wrong/ with this. In fact, my guess is many of our soldiers wear a St. Christopher or carry a New Testament/Torah/Holy Bible or have some religious vice with them regardless.

However, first and foremost, I firmly believe in separation of church and state. But, this isn't church......it's a corporation who has bid to do business with the US Military. So, our gov't should have been more cognizant and believed in separation of church and state. ;-)

What took ABC so long to bust this one?

Aleonard, you're right: I was asleep. An excruciating headache got me yesterday and it's back today. Douglas, thank you for setting them straight. I have a feeling they knew and were teasing us a bit. You're groovy!

Of course anyone can discuss anything they wish to discuss, it just amazes me that people can have such passion about a subject and know so little about it.

I would never enter into any type of discussion without the facts and without keeping up with the most current information about the subject.

If one has time to come here and give their opinion, they have enough time to research the subject.

Or do some simply argue for the sake of arguing and have no real interest in the subject being discussed.

I find most people on this Board to be quite knowledgeable of topics they discuss and have passion about. The only person "arguing" with anyone on this thread is you and Beauty Hunter, and it hasn't just been this one thread. If you have enough time to research subjects and definitions of in real time as the events occur, more power to you. Some of us also have lives to live and come here to this Board to relax or seek opinions like many people do these days who read internet bloggers or watch TV commentators.

O.K. time to play duck, duck, goose. Just thought I would add to the irritation that this thread has engendered. I think it is great that there are differences of opinions. I personally don't care if you agree with me or not, that won't make me not like you if you don't agree with me. I am a passionate person with strong opinions and if not delivered in a diplomatic way will go off like an atomic bomb, socially that is. What I want to say here is you get to see who people really are by how they handle themselves and I still accept and love who you are even though we have differences of opinions at times. If we were all alike it would be BORING. You guys are cool and socially acceptable or not, I still love you

Yep. But I preferred the two .50 cal. machine guns which were attached to my airplane. To the best of my knowledge, they had no biblical inscriptions on them or any other symbols either.
