We vacation at Inlet Beach in Walton County every fall. Wondering if anyone can tell me where there are any good bicycle paths that we can go riding on. Either in PC Beach or towards 30A. Thanks.

From my experience from running bike paths, I'd say that you can run (and thus bike) the entire length of County Highway 30-A from US 98/eastern end of 30-A (near Rosemary Beach) to US 98/western end of 30-A (near The Donut Hole for SWEET rewards). I personally have run those paths from Rosemary Beach to Grayton Beach (and back).

I'm watching the Duke game and don't wanna waste time Googling. Isn't 30-A like 30 miles long? That should be enough for the casual bicyclist.:funn:

Thanks Beach Runner. I too am watching Duke. We have some folding bicycles that have quick releases on both the front and back wheels where you can completely take them off and fold the bike together to store in your car trunk or suv. We plan on bringing them next time we come down for a rather scenic ride which we do not have here in Memphis.

Then get ready for heaven! SoWal is the casual bicyclist's dream! (I can't speak for the pro's who don't use the paths.)

Duke needs to take care of business!!!!!

How's the temperature there for the winter? We have averaged 9 degrees above normal for January. Usually we have a temperature around 41 for a high but we have averaged around 50. But I got on here to find out where some good bike riding places are, so sorry guys if we got off the subject, so if anyone else knows of other spots other than the nice 30A to ride also I would appreciate a reply!

For a casual ride, the Sandestin resort is a good place to ride. There are bike/run paths around most of the resort, but the streets themselves are also fairly safe. You can go from the beach to the bay via the hwy 98 underpass, and there are lots of places to stop if you need a beverage or a bite to eat.

Are there places on or near the paths that rent bikes?
If so, any info is appreciated.

There are several. Check out Big Daddies in Blue Mtn Beach, next to For the Health of It. They will deliver too, as most places tend to do. Good peeps ;-).

A word of advice, when on the bike path running along 30A, be extremely careful when approaching all driveways which cross the path because the majority of vehicles don't stop before the bike path. You can quickly be flipped over the hood. Also be aware that most drivers turning off of 30A do not yield to bikers on the bike path. Slow as you approach and be prepared to stop if need be.

Most importantly, have funn and enjoy the ride. There is much to see.;-)
