Talk of what could be the largest development to ever occur in Northwest Florida is in the early stages. One of the largest land owners in Northwest Florida is considering a development that would be similar to “The Villages” master planned development in Central Florida. The development would be located on the border of Bay County and Walton County. It will be part of a 30 year plan and combine residential and commercial, within close proximity to the Gulf.
The Villages is a master planned age-restricted community in Central Florida. A 2008 Census ranked The Villages the No. 1 fastest growing micropolitan area in the United States. The Development has 39 golf courses, as well as abundance of recreational centers, retail, and restaurants.
