I'm sorry for you, too DKA. So glad you were with great friends, however!

I've never explained my siggy line, and now seems to be the time.

Jayne Burns was a dear lady who befriended me when I moved back to Gainesville 10 years ago. When I met her, she was a recent breast cancer survivor. She left Gainesville a couple of years later, and about 3 years ago the cancer returned.

At her memorial service, one of her friends said that even after she got sick she would often say, "Life doesn't get any better than this." It was an acknowledgment of all the blessings that she had in life. But what we have may be as good as it gets, and it is not to be taken lightly. She believed that there is more to life that what we have here, but understood that even all tears are valuable. We don't cry over the loss of something that doesn't matter.

It's short, and incredibly precious. Life doesn't get any better than this. I'm grateful to spend it with people who take the living of it seriously.

Thank you all for the emails, cards, ecards, phone calls, etc. I'm glad everything turned out the way it did, being in Birmingham with great friends. It truly was a magical weekend.
I really cannot thank BB enough. The hostess with the mostess, and then some. Besides the fact that she has been one of my bestess grapefruits, like, FOREVER, but her selfless, calming demeanor and endless hospitality made everything bearable.

Now about NoHall's shoes: Picture does not do them justice. There was a buckle, and it was soooooo appropriate for the show. BB has just destroyed me. I used to cringe at the thought of going shoe shopping. I'm just not that gay.

But she has shown me the light. And now, I see women's shoes as an Art Form. I seriously could do a whole photo layout on shoes. Its not a fetish. I'm not into feet. I just finally see, understand and appreciate the beauty that is a womans shoe. Hey Bev, you getting this?

As for me, I'm happy with an old pair of sneakers.

As for purses, NADA. Ain't going there. To me they are a nuisance, more trouble than they are worth. I'm happy with a my tried and true, trusted and well traveled backpack.

Great. I'm waiting for the 3rd quarter of the Lakers game to start, flip channels and there is Sex in the City. I'm not going there. I'm not gonna do it.

So if you haven't seen it yet and it is coming within a few hours drive, go see Wicked.

If your mom is still with us, call her and tell her you love her.
If she's not, look at her picture or look up to the heaven's and tell her you love her.
And better still, call the mother of a close friend and tell her you love her.
I called Bobby's mom just to tell her I love her. Of course I tell her that all the time.
I know she never gets tired of hearing it. I don't think any mother ever does.
