Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask what people thought of/knew about this neighborhood. I've seen two threads about it in the past, but I was wondering if someone could let me know any info they had.

I keep seeing references to "the infamous Brickyard" development, as well as some talk about how Blue Gulf was a failed development back in the day. There are two houses I was looking at in the area, and any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
MB

Some of those houses are very, very close to 30A. There is good and bad with most any neighborhood. Homes are currently cheap, close to beach, walk to For the Health of It and other local businesses, but most of the homes are old and need lots of love. They do have beach access, but the people at The Retreat, next to the access, are fighting hard to keep you off "their" beach. It's a quirky neighborhood, IMO, and not meant for everyone.

Blue Mtn Beach!!
LOL "quirky" - that's why I love it!! I live in Blue Gulf - right smack in the Brickyard! I love it here - the location can't be beat IMHO. I bike to the beach, Grayton and Seaside, run down 30A and do so love being very close to For The Health of It and La Loba's! I don't give a hoot about "The Retreat" access - I just bike it down to the public access (there are several on Blue Mtn Dr.) And there are sunsets to die for too! LOVE Blue Mtn Beach.

We decided to build but there definitely are houses around us that need to be renovated and we almost went that route - I've been in some DARLING brick re-dos! So much can be done.

I'd be curious as to which houses you are considering.

Hope this helps
