Spoke to Sam Wesley last night and he will do the entire project set up for $375, includes picking up the permit and cleaning up the next day. Have to make a quick trip to NO but if anyone has time you may want to contact the Sheriff's dept for info regarding the bonfire. I thought they cleaned up the next day and if so we should not have to pay Sammy so much $$. Will check back tomorrow afternoon. Have a great Sunday!

NO! The County does not clean up after your bonfire!!! ...and you should not leave trash on the beach overnight, so that it can blow around during the night. Clean up after yourselves the best you can at the end of the night and still pay Sam to ensure it is clean the next morning. You don't want to give Kurt and SoWal a bad reputation!!! :nono1:  ... nor do you want to get on my sh_tlist.

BTW, here is the law: "
Sec. 22-54. Regulation of use and conduct on the beach and water bodies. (2) It shall be unlawful and a violation of this article for a person to fail to clean up after the fire has been extinguished."

;-) If you mess it up, you clean it up. I don't like being an @sshole, so don't let your actions get me started. Do the right thing. :D I love  you all dearly, but that had to be said. :D

Now back to the party...

I will gladly donate a portion of the cost to have Sammy clean up, and set up! If we all chip in it shouldn't be that much per person! Knowing it is done right makes me happy!:D

I think you are right, Allifunn. Most people (SoWallers) will feel the need to police themselves, including Franny, but I didn't want people to think that it was okay to leave trash on the beach, just because Sam was going to be paid to clean up the next day.

FYI - to those who do not know Sam Wesley, he is a hard-working local, who lives in Grayton, is a fishing boat Captain, and sets up rental chairs and umbrellas on Grayton. So, by paying him to set all of this up and ensure it is clean, you are helping to keep him in business. Not only will you be keeping the beach clean, but you will help to keep this grayt community going. If you are nice to him and ask, he will probably even light your fire.

I think maybe Allifunn might enjoy having her fire lit:D . But we hear ya' SJ, and we would never presume that it's all up to him to clean up. I'll bring some extra trash bags--heck I'll even haul 'em back to Texas to dispose of!
