Putting the gate at the Meaders/Daria Drive intersection makes sense because Daria Drive and Daria Place are dead-end streets. If you don't live there or are not delivering packages or providing services there, you shouldn't be there. The gate prevents traffic jams from gawkers. So the folks on Meaders and Netherland aren't impeded.
