With Kitty's encouragement, another story:
Last night, we had our Mardi Gras Party. Yes, I know it was one day late, but I had no control over the scheduling and some people just don't get it. Anyhoo...

We have a resident who's married to a lady who lives around the corner in the retirement community where I do the little monthly socials (marketing). She's in the hospital currently and I can't take her back because her Medicare days aren't reset (she was with us for rehab earlier in the year) and she can't pay private pay. But, I digress. Her husband is a man who NEVER speaks unless spoken to, NEVER smiles, just sort of stays to himself, never complains or asks for anything. Last night, when the music started up, he jumped up out of his chair and began dancing! Some of the staff joined him and he was smiling from ear to ear. Huge smile. They danced and danced, he changed partners several times, some of the lady residents danced with him, one family member, and a guest. He had the time of his life. This truly did make our night. I sooooo wish I could post pics. A happy night at the NH! :D

Trying to get my thoughts together on my Precious Granny and wish you could have known her! Wish she could have known you! So many delightful memories and wonderful family (some crazy) stories. But, she too stole things in her later years. And, for some reason at age 98 or so, she took a liking to rap music - wt~~~~~? So, she would sneak in her neighbors' rooms and turn the TV on a music channel (rap) and turn the volume all the way up - then steal a banana. She didn't have alzheimers - just senility and she was an absolute delight! Died at 101 years young - healthy. Just decided to check out one night when she went to sleep - my prayer for years for her! Many crazy family stories that will have you rolling!!!! Later~~~
