CAA Announces Teacher Mini-Grants & Artist Awards
The Cultural Arts Association (CAA) of Walton County, Inc. is pleased to announce the following teacher mini-grant recipients for the 2010 4th quarter: Cindy Watkins of Freeport Elementary School received $348.13; Misty Hicks of WISE Pre-K Center received $347.41; and from Maude Saunders Elementary School, Kathy Harrah received $349.78, Heather Hester received $348.26, Patsy Lathinghouse received $276.58 and Krisy Spence received $350.00. Constance Rogers of Butler Elementary School received a $950 Need-Based Student Grant for students to participate in after-school art education programs.
Artist Kris Meigs was awarded a $450 Artist Award to continue her education in the art of sculpture by learning to incorporate welding. Congratulations to all of these recipients.
The CAA is the umbrella organization that supports the arts in Walton County through leadership, advocacy, funding, programs and education. The Educational Giving Program is one way the CAA fulfills its missions by providing $20,000 in grants and scholarships each year. Fundraisers like the Valentine Tour of Homes and the Calendar of Art raise money so the CAA can continue to award these funds to deserving recipients.
