Can't Even Believe I'm asking this, but...

I put everything in at the same time, as well. With some beer.
I'm Scots-Irish, and married a Jewish guy, but he's the one that likes corned beef and cabbage.

Ask if he wants mushy cabbage or not. I do the beef and then the cabbage last with little liquid on high maybe only 5-8 min. so I am really steaming the cabbage and I like crisp or firm cabbage. This to me either makes or breaks the meal.

yes...enough to cover...about 2 beers plus about 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup BROWN sugar

That sounds so good and I do not like corned beef...way to go!

add beer...not water!!! Seriously..I put beer, vinegar and sugar in the crock to make a great corned beef...and I usually add the cabbage later.(also put in pickeling spices) the chef has spoken )

Packing??? How much do you need? shorts, a jacket,etc...takes 15 minutes..plenty of time.
