Do I need to move my couch or will they move it from one place to another? I moved everything else. Also, will they shampoo an area rug?

Obviously I am not very experienced with the "professionals" but I got one of those flyers in the mail and it is only $44 for 3 rooms and a hall. I thot my area rug could be a room! I'll let you know what I learn from this experience. They said they would be here between 11-1:00. I guess I better go get started on yard work while I wait.I need to do this too! I think it depends on the company, but surely they will move your sofa. just tell them to do it, don't ask. surely they will do the area rug... you got me thinking that I need to do this very soon!!!
good luck and let us know the outcome...
I know y'all are dying to know how my carpet cleaning advdenture turned out. Right! Well, they were suppose to show up between 11-1 and got there at 2:30. That's OK. They were very nice but didn't speak much english. That's OK. They did do my area rugs for one of the rooms. That's good. It took them 20 minutes and they were gone. The carpet looks good but I hear dirt may come to the service and look worse later. We'll see. The jury is still out. It's a good thing I had moved all the furniture because I don't think they would have done that! Anyway, it's definitely easier than doing it myself. I would like to buy one of those shampooers eventually. That's all I have to say about that!
You're so cool! Just going with the flow

Watching them do their job, it's kind of hard to call them "professionals". It seemed they were doing just what any Home Depot machine would do but it is easier to have someone do it for me. The final cost, $44 plus $10 service fee. Not too bad. I called Service Master and their beginning price is $125.SM: I WAS dying to hear the outcome of this adventure. Hope the dirt stays gone and that all that furniture moving wasn't in vain.
I actually did buy a carpet steamer. Had to lug the dang thing through two floors of the store, cuz they couldn't find anyone to help me. By the time I got to the car, I was a huffin and puffin'! It does an "ok" job, but I think the pros are better. Just hate to try to justify the $$ now that I do have the steamer.
